Meritage
Meritage (pronounced like "heritage", not "meri-TAZH") is a term used to describe high-quality, Bordeaux-style blended wines produced primarily in the United States. It is a portmanteau of the words merit and heritage.
The Blend: Must be a blend of two or more of the "noble" Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, St. Macaire, Gros Verdot, or Carmenère.
The Ratio: No single variety can make up more than 90% of the blend.
