2011 Livermore Valley Pinot Blanc
Double Gold Medal, 2012 California State Fair Competition
In 2011 we decided to introduce an unoaked Pinot Blanc to our portfolio at Las Positas. We source these grapes from Ted Butner who grows Pinot Blanc and Pinot Grigio on that edge of Sunol within the Livermore Valley AVA. This vineyard sits at the bottom of a steep canyon making it a very cool site. It has very deep Las Positas gravely loam which did not require irrigation in 2011. The grapes from this vineyard are typically picked based on acid levels, not sugar, creating wines with body and acidity to match. For more information on this wine, click here.
